Niemi A Shark, Guerin Skates For Flyers

-Antti Niemi has found a new home in the NHL. The latest Chicago cap casualty signed a 1 year, $2 million contract with the San Jose Sharks. That is $750,000 less than what he was awarded in arbitration with the Blackhawks. Chicago let him go after a season where he led the team to a Stanley Cup. Niemi will replace Evgeni Nabokov, who fled to the KHL this offseason. Niemi's spot will be filled by Marty Turco, who signed with Chicago earlier.

-That photo may anger some Bill Guerin fans, but it is reality. Guerin skated for the Philadelphia Flyers today in Flyers gear, but that does not mean he is a Flyer. After being told by Ray Shero that he will not return to Pittsburgh, Guerin has talked to the Boston Bruins and the Flyers the most. There were early reports that he was just looking for a tryout, but that is not the case according to his agent. Guerin is seeking a contract, so we will see what happens on the Guerin front.
