Nailers Bolster Blue Line with Trade

The Wheeling Nailers bolstered their blue line today by making a trade with the Alaska Aces for the rights to talented defensemen Nick Tuzzolino in exchange for future considerations.

Tuzzolino, 24, is known for his hard-nosed play, racking up 251 penalty minutes in 131 games the past two seasons with the Aces. However, Tuzzolino also has some high-scoring prowess for a defensemen to go along with hit grit. Last season he notched 9 goals and 22 assists in 70 games.

More Nailer news after the jump...
If the Nailers are able to sign Tuzzolino they will add to an already impressive group of signed players for the 2010-2011 season.
Just last week the Nailers added to their forward depth as they signed their 2009-2010 MVP and Capitan, Andrew Lord.
During the past two seasons Lord has played in combined 139 games with the Nailers. He finished last season with his first cup-of-coffee in the AHL when the Rochester Americans called his number.

Lord finished last season with 17 goals and 19 assists as well as 185 penalty minutes, finishing 2nd in the ECHL in major penalties with 21.
Nailers announced signings for 2010-2011:
