Seidenberg Re-Signs With Boston

-Dennis Seidenberg, a defenseman the Penguins might have looked at during free agency, has re-signed with the Boston Bruins. Boston gave him a four year, $13 million contract. That averages to about $3.25 million a season. Seidenberg led the NHL in blocked shots this season with 215. The Penguins are looking for a defenseman of his caliber. Three options Pittsburgh can pursue are Anton Volchenkov, Zbynek Michalek or Andy Sutton, who will all be free agents if they are not signed by July 1st. All three of those players were in the top 20 in blocked shots this past season. Volchenkov and Michalek may be better suited for Pittsburgh since they are relatively young at 28 and 27, respectively.
