Engelland Extended


 - The Pittsburgh Penguins announced today that Deryk Engelland has signed a three year, $1.7 million extension. He will have a cap hit of $566,700 starting next season. He was scheduled to become a free agent after this season. The 28 year old defenseman has been rewarded for his season so far. Engelland has recorded five points (two goals and three assists) so far this season. He is ranked 16th in the NHL in penalty minutes with 76. He has made himself known through fighting and defeating fighter such as Colton Orr and Taylor Pyatt. With this move, the Penguins have every member of their current defense signed through next season.
