Powerplay Surges As Pens Beat Canadiens 6-3

-The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-3 last night at the Mellon Arena. Jaroslav Halak did not even last the whole game after giving up five goals. Pittsburgh scored four powerplay goals. The goals were scored by Sergei Gonchar, Jordan Staal, Craig Adams, Kris Letang, Alex Goligoski, and Bill Guerin. Staal was later injured and it is not known how much time he will miss. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 of 31 shots. Game 2 is scheduled for an NBC broadcast at 2:00 tomorrow.
