Pens Take Series Lead With 2-1 Victory
-The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 tonight at the Mellon Arena to take a 3-2 lead in the seven game series. Kris Letang and Sergei Gonchar scored the goals for Pittsburgh. Both goals came from the point. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 32 of 33 shots. He had a shutout until the last minute of the third period when Montreal scored when Jaroslav Halak was pulled. Alexei Ponikarovsky and Ruslan Fedotenko were healthy scratches as expected. Bill Guerin and Mike Rupp returned to the lineup. Pittsburgh can eliminate Montreal with a victory on Monday night at 7:00. The game will be televised on FSN Pittsburgh.
