-The Penguins have just unveiled the jersey for the 2011 Winter Classic. It was announced following today's practice. Everyone on the team skated in practice including Zybnek Michalek and Jordan Staal.
The more I look at it the more I like them – as a Winter Classic jersey, that is. It hits on a lot of points of retro Pens jerseys. I hope we stay with our current powder blues as our thirds but that's just a personal preference. I love those jerseys.
I know some Pens fans were disappointed that we didn't bring back the 1991 Pens jerseys but I don't really think it's been long enough to bring them back, and I don't consider those really spectacular jerseys anyway.
Personally, I really wanted to bring back our Yellow Penguins jerseys for the Winter Classic. It would make sense to me (the yellow in Heinz Field and all) but these have already grown on me a bit.
