-The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed RW Nick Johnson to one year, two-way contract. The deal would pay him $500,000 at the NHL level. Johnson scored a goal and recorded an assist in six games with Pittsburgh this past season. In Wilkes Barre/Scranton, he scored 16 goals in recording 43 points in 61 games. He is expected to be competing for a roster spot next season. Johnson was scheduled to become a restricted free agent.
